Day 3
April 26, 2012
Finally, our last day had
begun. The group woke up early, fixed things and had a jiffy breakfast to go on
to our next and final stop---WHITE ISLAND!
One of the most visited and
famous attractions here in the island is its Medano Islet, commonly known as
White Island located to off the shore of Mambajao, Camiguin. The islet can be
reached via short boat ride (1.5 to 2 kilometers away from the shore more or
less)—you’ll damage less than Php500.00 for the chartered boat.

we're heading to white island |
See that white sheet-like floating in blue waters? That's the islet, surrounded with waters in the sea.
|
Local vendors inside those sheds |
During day time, locals are selling hard-boiled eggs, junk foods, saging for those starved visitors in the island, while others are lending their snorkels for undrerwater sea viewing.

This is what I'm talking about |
This "C" shaped island with nothing but sandbars, footprints, few umbrellas, tourists, and all sea breeze and clear waters craves you to stay and enjoy the place longer.
|
Pretty sands to sit in |
|
Gloomy clouds with little raindrops |

Mt. Hibok-Hibok as our Backdrop..authentic! |
Just like any other locals
said, it is much advised to be on the islet during low tide preferably around 5:00 in the morning
before the sun rises to avoid direct contact of the sun. The islet is all white
and fine sand (a little rough marbles won’t ruin your expectations anyway), there is
less shade, but if you happened to have a sensitive skin—you may rent a huge
umbrella to the local vendors.
Believe me, this salt-water island left great memories and is worthy to be proud and boast with.
