Puerto Princesa Do-It-Yourself Shared Plan

I was planning to take a visit in Palawan (Puerto Princesa) this summer but then my friends and I decided to postpone/cut the idea for a while since we’ve chosen to widen the scope of place to visit to-  so reserve na muna ang whole isla of Palawan adventures ha.

While those who are planning to spent their summer in Palawan(PPS lang talaga) without taking into some tour packages, well I’m happy to share to you my “Do-It-Yourself” Tour plan in PPS. But of course if you are a traveler who wishes to relax you may opted to visit http://www.ilink.ph/palawan-packages for the tour packages and/or you may contact them at +63-917-626-2242 GLOBE | +63-922-852-5150 SUN | +63.919-991-3828 SMART.

“To the Adventurer, here are the things that you must not forget to do and visit:”

1. Arriving at the Airport. Never waste your time checking on hotels, inns and pension houses, I suggest you proceed first to the “CITY COLISEUM” (one of the reasons why you visit PPS is because of its PPUR). Hail a tricycle going to the coliseum (P10.00-12.00), that’s 5-10 minutes away from the airport. They cater 100pax in a day only (I dunno if during peak seasons they cater more)
2. Get a PERMIT. Apply for a Permit in PPUR booking office. Table’s 1 and 2 are reserve for the Walk-ins. You need to pay the following:
                        General \Entrance:      Local ages 21-59  - P100.00
                        Cave Entrance :           P175.00
Office hours: Monday-Friday at 8:00 - 4:00pm-no lunch breaks. Sat and Sun at 8:00 – 12:00, 1:00-5:00pm.
For more inquiries you may contact the city coliseum office at the number and e-mail add given:

Drop and GOOD TO GO!

4. Proceed to San Jose Terminal. From downtown area ride a multicab to San Jose Terminal (P12.00) or you can ask the receptionist the what and where going to San Jose Terminal.
5. To Sabang.  Look for PUV/J going to Sabang (P100-150). Make an advance reservation in shuttlevan (0917-585-9602/0912-100-2651)
6. @ Sabang Port in Brgy. Cabayugan, go direct to the Tourism Information Center for Registration.
Register an hour before your tour. Bring valid ID. Inform also the  TIC that you’ll be riding the pumpboat to the UR Entrance, they will arrange your boat and be given a number. You’ll just need to wait until your number is called. Boat ride P700 for 6pax (roundtrip) Sabang-UR-Sabang

7.Underground River Entrance. Register again and ride the paddleboat. Stay connected with the tourist guide. This won’t last an hour anywayJ

8. Back to Sabang. Just find your chartered pumpboat.

9.Rest.Rest.Rest. Prepare for the next day.
10. Day 2. Honda Bay DIY Tour
11. Buy food and drinks. Camera. Water. At the downtown area hail a tricycle 2-5pax (P500), or multicab6-10pax (P1000), but if you’re good at negotiation, you may haggle for only P300.00. That’s Downtown-Honda bay-downtown.
( You may also opted a 30-minute ride from city proper to Honda bay by paying P25-30 but you’ll get difficulty in riding back to the city proper)

12.@ Honda Bay. Proceed to the Tourism Information Office. Register and Rent a boat (P1500 good for 6pax) and P40Environmental fee. If you’re in a smaller group, you can look for some tourists who are in small groups too and share the boat and the expensesJ

13. Choose the islands you wish to visit and voila! You’re on your own. Just prepare money for the entrance fees in each island, each ranging from P25-100.
Starfish Island, Pambato Reef , Snake Island , Pandan Island, Cowrie Island

14. If you still have enough time you can do your city tour on Day 2, but if it’s too close to dimness make it your Day 3 Activity using Public Utility Transport (that’s if you’re brave enough to face it).
You might like visiting: Butterfly Garden (at the city proper in Rizal Avenue take a multicab with “Pajara-Sta. Monica-Bunkhouse” route and tell the driver to drop you off at Butterfly Garden try giving P20.00 and a little tipJ Prepare for an entrance fee not exceeding to P100.00
From Gardening Garden go back to the main highway and ride a tricycle going to Baker’s Hill (P20)
Plaza Cuartel – Cathedral – Baywalk. From there you take a multicab back to the city (Fare Php 18 to 20). Tell the driver to bring you to the Cathedral, then walk going to Plaza Cuartel and Baywalk.

       15.Last Day!
Dolphin Watching. Appear at the Baywalk before 6:00am and look for rental boats (P700/pax).  But you can ask for some little help with this in Dolphin Watching Tour Package amounting to P900-1000, you may contact these numbers for some helps +639298616776/+639153202913/ +639436797533 and/or email them at islapalawan@yahoo.com
