On
a weekend upon visiting one of the malls in the city, I’ve witnessed these
3-lovely ladies in their “summer get-up” (it’s November), advertising and
promoting “ Blackbeard's Seafood Island” restaurant. I didn’t mind anyway, but the moment I
got tired of exploring and re-walking the alley wondering where to stop and
satisfy my gastronomic needs, I end up entering where ladies in summer uniform
stand.
Newly opened but familiar menus, good
enough, let’s check their chef’s taste. Hahah:)
Got dismayed when all of my choices
in oyster menu were not available (been looking forward to that pa naman), and
all those juices I’ve ordered were out of stock! Wanna cry:(,
good thing the manager offered to make a customize juice out from the menu, hmm,
that’s something, positive crash to a customer who he thinks got dismayed.
Sizzling Gambas Galera |
One should not missed to try their
Gambas Galera, served in a sizzling plate with medium to large sized skinned
shrimp, mixed with veggies in a thick sauce. Comment: Perfect blend, perfect
taste. I’ve seen the same menu in another restau days after I’ve tried their
Gambas and compared on the presentation, shrimp and mixings – it’s way, way, way
different in a relative price.
Kinilaw na Tanigue |
Kinilaw
na Tanigue (mackerel) , I know perfectly the taste of good, better, best kinilaw
from anywhere. Not really the best kinilaw but you’ll wonder how they’ve
maintain to keep it smell and taste like you’re in the sea.
Sabarabasab,
got curious with its name, look and coz I can’t pronounce it well. It’s a
chopped liempo half soaked in “pinakuratang suka” with a nip of “bagoong” top
with tomatoes and white onions. Can’t boast this one much.
They also offer food in a "bilao" for large number of people, ready for boodle. Also, checkout their mouthwatering crab, pusit and oyster dishes, I've heard they really are great. Blackbeard's Seafood Island restaurant is situated in SM and Abreeza Malls of Davao.
